At Ruck Up and Recover, we believe healing doesn’t always happen in a hospital or clinic. Sometimes, it begins on a mountainside at sunrise. Sometimes, it begins when a veteran finally hears, “You’re not alone.”
We’re proud to announce that our first-ever Mental Health Reset Retreat is launching this fall. This week-long experience is the culmination of months of planning, outreach, and hard conversations about what veterans truly need—not just to survive, but to live fully again.
What Makes This Retreat Different?
Unlike traditional treatment programs, our retreat is designed by veterans, for veterans. We combine outdoor adventure, peer support, structured reflection, and real-world tools for emotional resilience and benefits navigation. And we do it all in a non-clinical, judgment-free, and inclusive space.
Whether you're struggling with PTSD, feeling isolated, or just need to catch your breath, this retreat gives you the chance to step away, reconnect with yourself, and re-engage with your purpose.
Who We Serve
Our mission is to serve veterans and active-duty service members from all walks of life. We proudly welcome participants of any background, faith, or identity. What unites us is service—and the shared understanding that the battle doesn’t always end when the uniform comes off.
How You Can Help
This retreat is completely free to the veterans we serve, and that’s only possible through community support. Here’s how you can get involved:
Sponsor a Veteran: $1,800 covers the full cost for one attendee
Donate Supplies: From hiking gear to journals, every bit helps
Refer a Veteran: Know someone who could benefit? Send them our way
Partner with Us: Organizations, VSOs, and businesses—we’d love to team up
We’re Just Getting Started
This is only the beginning. We know that one week in the mountains won’t erase every burden—but it can spark a shift. It can remind someone they’re still worth fighting for. And sometimes, that reminder is all it takes.
Thank you for walking this path with us. If you’d like to support the mission or learn more, visit www.ruckuprecover.org or contact us at scott@ruckuprecover.org.
Together, we ruck up… and recover.
